In Memoriam Hurricane Jake

To all of our fans out there I am very sorry to say that 'Hurricane' Jake Fizgerald passed away on April 9th 2001 at 11:45a.m. He had been fighting cancer for the past fourteen months. I have no words that can describe his friendship, his musicianship, his love for life, and how he left all cares and troubles behind as he stepped on a stage to perform. He was always there looking out for me and the best interests of our band. He taught me to be a better musician, a better man, and I learned to respect myself more because of him. He always said, " Willster, play your guitar the best you can tonight because that is what the people come to see and remember I'm here to back you up and kick you in the butt if you need it".So if you're so inclined, Jakes' favorite drink was a bourbon and Coke, so may I suggest that you have one and toast Jake, because that is the way he would have wanted it. God bless you Jake!
